Helping Women in the Community
Living water satisifes continus to offer significant service in the community, At the present time we are working on opening new programmes to empower women to overcome domestic violence and lead a healthy life. We presently give advice, information and signposting (directing victims to proper help) until we can secure the neccesary resources to fully open our programmes.

Tackling Unemployment
LWS is well aware of the fact that the recession has had a dramatic impact on the level of youth unemployment. The economic turn down left the young and inexperienced job-seekers out of the labour market. Young job-seekers are now faced with both chronically high levels of unemployment and lengthy unemployment spells. As a consequence, more and more young people are being condemned to a lifetime of dire poverty by the lack of employment opportunities.

And many younger workers will find it difficult to avoid becoming permanently excluded from the jobs market.
Therefore, LWS believes the key component to dealing with the concentration of youth unemployment is to improve employment opportunities to youth so they are not locked in unemployment and poverty. We also believe that young unemployed people should be given more opportunity to enter into the labour market and be supported during their employment. In this view, in October 2009, LWS entered into a partnership with Future Jobs Fund, a youth-orientated employment initiative funded by the Government.
The partnership aimed to promote job creation for young people. And through this partnership, we have so far provided employment for more than 15 young people who would have been otherwise unemployed and alienated from the labor market.
LWS runs a community Cafe and Restaurant to generate income to support our charitable activities, and we have been providing unemployed and unexperienced youths with opportunities for work experience in our community Cafe to work alongside our Chef and Cafe Supervisor. For unemployed young people, such work experience is often a stepping stone to gaining access to higher-skill, better-paying positions.
